Big Block Inverting Ltd specializes in the handling of Waukesha VHP and Cat 3500 Natural Gas Compression engines on site out in the field. Our portable equipment allows for the engine blocks to be safely lifted and rotated to allow for crankshaft removal and bearing replacement.

Having the ability to flip the engine blocks allows for the field mechanics to easily remove the crankshaft and replace bearings. Additionally, cleaning the block becomes so much more effective and greatly reduces the risk of contamination related failures at startup.

The engine stand can be either hung at the front of the engine with the building crane or alternatively use the additional leg jacks. This allows for the variations of package building designs, piping and wiring that need to be worked around.

The engine stand is incredibly portable. The whole system fits nicely into a large tool box that can be transported to site in a pickup or on the deck of a picker/tool truck.

Once on site, the engine stand is bolted to each end of the engine block. Four 12,000 lbs jacks at each corner easily lift the block off of its bed. Once the block is clear of the bed a worm gear box and gear reduction system is used to rotate the block over. This system is incredibly safe as it is virtually impossible for the load to shift or drop.

The compact design of the equipment means that the compressor does not need to be moved or disturbed and easily fits between engine block and compressor drive hub.

Cleaning the block becomes an easy and quick step to the overhaul. Oil galleries and pans can be swabbed and cleaned safely with ease. Never miss another rag………….
